If so, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team in Oxford to work on a diverse project primarily in Science, Health Care, Higher Education and Residential Sectors. Rosalind Franklin Institute, National Satellite Test Facility, Evelina Children’s Hospital, Oxford Biochemistry Phase 2, Advance Quantum Metrology Laboratory, Institute of Immunity and Transplantation: Pears Building, Friary Park Residential and King Edward Hotel to name but a few.
About Our Team:
We are a team of three M&E Specialists, Associate, Senior and Trainee Cost Manager located in the Oxford Office which is a total Cost Management Team of 15 people. The team experience and employment history are Cost Management in M&E, working for both Contractors and Cost Consultancies. The Oxford Office core specialism is Science, Health Care, Higher Education and Residential projects, though we have other non-core Projects such as Infrastructure, Aviation, Leisure and Commercial.
You will need to be from a contractor, consultancy or client organisation with the ability to work in a team, be both internal and external client-facing. With the following duties, generally;
Lead M&E Cost Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery from inception to final account.
Provide effective support and mentoring to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.
Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training.
Approach to all projects and clients requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively. The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of M&E Cost Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team.
Proven experience in a construction industry environment providing Cost Management services including Pre & Post Contract Estimating; Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning tools and Microsoft Suite.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Health Care, Science, Residential and Education experience would be advantageous.
A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
Professionally Qualified – Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution preferred, but not essential.
