AECOM’s Environment Business in Perth has an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional to join our high performing Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team. You will take a key role in delivering excellence in client-service on projects from a range of markets including Power (renewables and grid modernisation), Mining, Transport, and Defence.

Our IAP Technical Practice covers a range of service offerings within the Environment Business Line including undertaking environmental constraints analysis, environmental impact assessment, obtaining environmental approvals, environmental management, auditing, and environmental compliance.

We are looking for a Principal Environmental Scientist who can work collaboratively to prepare and manage high-quality environmental impact assessments. You will be confident in translating technical information into accessible language in your written work and other communications.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Working closely with industry specialists to undertake and coordinate environmental impact assessments and approvals on high-profile, challenging projects.

  • Work alongside Management Teams, to ensure environmental matters are appropriately considered and managed at all stages of design development and project construction

  • Project manage, develop bids and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders on a range of projects.

  • Support the continued growth of our business and foster the development of environmental planning and approvals across the region.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science.

  • Have strong environmental impact assessment experience across a number of market sectors and a good industry reputation.

  • Have demonstrated experience working on major projects.

  • have solid project management/coordination skills, and commercial acumen to effectively manage resources, timelines, quality and budgets.

  • Possess the emotional intelligence to develop and maintain positive peer and client relationships

  • Be a strong team player, influencer, and, most importantly, a real collaborator.

  • Be a good communicator with proven technical knowledge and a strong client focus.
