AECOM Entry Level Traffic/ITS Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

The Pittsburgh Office of AECOM is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing Traffic Engineer with 0-2 years’ experience in the areas of developing roadway traffic plans, ITS plans and performing traffic analyses.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required, with an EIT is preferred.   

Work as part of a team and also independently in learning, evaluating, and applying Traffic Engineering principles, standards, and criteria. 

  • Learn and utilize various modeling tools for traffic analysis (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM) for a variety of conditions and needs at specific intersections, along arterial corridors, and for freeway segments. 

  • Assist in preparing technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distribution. 

  • Assist in performing various Traffic Engineering studies and plan development.

  • Adhere to project schedules and budgets

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Applicable course work in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

  • Good Communication Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 0 - 2 years of Traffic / Transportation / ITS related internship and/or work experience

  • Engineer in Training certification

  • Microstation / AutoCAD experience

  • Valid Driver’s License
