Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Geologist for employment in the Portland, OR office to support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various clients in the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation, and groundwater sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment.

Tasks will include:
Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, or related field
0-2 years’ experience in environmental consulting or related field
Demonstrated strong technical writing abilities
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to travel regionally for short-term overnight assignments
Valid US Driver’s License
U.S. Citizenship required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training
Remedial investigation, remediation planning, or design experience
Contractor oversight experience
Construction inspection experience
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software)
