Job Description
Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Develop, review, and implement health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Regularly review and update risk assessments as needed.
Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors to ensure awareness and compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop reports outlining root causes and corrective actions. Ensure all incidents are reported in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation plans, first aid protocols, and crisis management strategies. Conduct drills and exercises to test preparedness and response capabilities.
Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with HSE policies and regulations. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Contractor Management: Evaluate the HSE performance of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to established safety standards and requirements. Provide guidance and support to contractors to promote a culture of safety.
Environmental Management: Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Develop and implement initiatives to minimize the project's environmental impact, such as waste reduction and energy conservation measures.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, including inspections, training, incidents, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging HSE trends, regulations, and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities to improve HSE performance and enhance the overall safety culture within the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum 12 - 15 years relevant (construction, facility management) experience.
Preference for construction experience (minimum 9 of these 12 years or 11 of 15 years should be in Construction).
Minimum 5 years’ experience working for a main contractor in Construction.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in mega projects.
Experience with Consultant / PMC extremely desirable.
