Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Master Planning Manager with a strong background in Project Management to join our team. The Master Planning Manager will be responsible for leading the development of comprehensive master plans for large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with client vision, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals. This role requires strategic thinking, project management expertise, and excellent leadership to oversee the entire planning process from conceptualization to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Planning Leadership: Lead the development of master plans for large-scale, complex projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring all elements align with the client’s vision, goals, and objectives.
Project Management Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the master planning process, including coordination of various design and planning teams, ensuring milestones are met, timelines are adhered to, and budgets are maintained.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and integration of all project components.
Design and Feasibility Analysis: Collaborate with architects, urban planners, engineers, and other consultants to ensure that master plans are feasible, sustainable, and in compliance with zoning laws and environmental regulations.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to master planning and project delivery and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.
Strategic Planning and Reporting: Prepare high-level reports, presentations, and updates for clients and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress, challenges, and any adjustments to the master plan.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all aspects of the master planning process comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of planners, architects, and engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Ensure effective communication across all departments and disciplines involved in the project.
Sustainability Integration: Incorporate sustainable design principles and best practices into the master planning process, ensuring that the project aligns with environmental standards and contributes to long-term sustainability goals.
Quality Assurance: Maintain a high level of quality throughout the master planning process, ensuring that all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Urban Planning. A Master’s degree is a plus.
15 years of experience in master planning, urban design, or project management within Engineering Consultancy sectors.
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of planning principles, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and sustainability practices.
Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with client-facing roles and managing stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in urban planning and design.
Desirable Skills:
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or a related credential.
Experience with large-scale mixed-use or urban development projects.
Familiarity with environmental sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
