Job Description

  • Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop MEP design plans that meet project requirements and objectives.

  • Participate in project planning meetings to provide input on MEP system design, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • MEP Design Management:

  • Lead the design development process for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.

  • Review and approve design drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Coordinate with design consultants and internal design teams to resolve conflicts, discrepancies, and technical issues in the MEP design.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates for MEP systems design and installation.

  • Monitor project expenses, track costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or performance.

  • Procurement and Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source MEP equipment, materials, and subcontractor services required for project execution.

  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support construction activities.

  • Construction Supervision:

  • Provide on-site supervision and oversight of MEP installation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

  • Coordinate with construction teams to resolve field-related issues, change orders, and modifications to the MEP systems as needed.

  • Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Implement quality assurance programs and procedures to verify the integrity, functionality, and performance of MEP systems throughout the construction process.

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems to identify deficiencies, troubleshoot problems, and ensure proper functionality and operation.

  • Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Supervise and mentor MEP engineering staff, designers, and project team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and address concerns related to MEP design and construction activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in MEP design and construction management, with a focus on building projects.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems design and installation.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design software.

  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.

  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems design and installation.
