Job Description

AECOM is seeking a career opportunity position for a Sr. Wetlands/Soils and Natural Resource Scientist to join our large and dynamic Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice in New England.

Responsibilities will include conducting field wetlands and biological field surveys including wetland delineation, soils taxonomy, biological inventory (botanical or wildlife) and scientific report writing and regulatory interpretation. In this role you be an integral part of a large, multidisciplinary team of like-minded scientists supporting field investigations and permit application support for power sector projects including electric transmission, renewables including land-based work supporting Offshore Wind Energy Development and solar and battery storage projects. Additional sectors include the industrial, state/local and federal projects.. This is a remote/hybrid position with a focus on CT, and Western/Central MA and RI. Ability to serve a Biological Monitor and Environmental Inspector during construction on an intermittent basis a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a BS in Biology, Soils Science, Plant Science, Environmental Science, Geology or related discipline and 4+ years’ experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.

  • Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Registration as a Professional Soil Scientist and/or a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) along with permit application preparation in CT, MA or RI.

  • Familiarity with the CT and MA environmental regulatory programs/permitting preferred

  • 7+ years of experience

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00.
