Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Regional Project Controls Deputy Director to be based in Sacramento, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development, production, and maintenance of monthly reporting that narrows the Executive level focus toward the top issues, impacts, and mitigations currently driving the achievement of the top two program-wide milestones, ARRA by 2028 (Track and Systems Constructed) and the achievement of Revenue Service by 2030.

  • Responsible for advising the PMO Executive regarding the addition or modification of key program-wide Project Controls systems/initiatives that could improve the Authority's ability to achieve its goals.

  • Responsible for monitoring the detailed adherence by the Project Construction Management (PCM), Regional Consultants to the requirements of the Project and Construction Management Manual (PCMM), Section 10 – Schedule Controls.

  • Work closely with the PCM Project Controls Managers to improve and streamline Project Controls processes in support of accurate information needed by the Authority’s Executives.

  • Work with functional stakeholders to ensure that detailed Project Controls requirements, in support of PMO reporting, are included in all future procurements. These requirements should include but are not limited to Project Controls specifications, the addition of Contractor Interim milestones with delivery dates and associated liquidated damages for late delivery as well as Authority handover dates for ROW and Third Party agreements.

  • Review and monitor change orders for compliance with the contract, and participate in the Change Control Committee.

  • Interface with ROW, Environmental, and other key departments within the Authority that undertake work needed to progress design, construction, testing, and commissioning.

  • Assist/Support/Collaborate in the successful and timely completion of all RPCD typical duties.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or Engineering.

  • Professional certification as a scheduling professional and/or engineer is preferable.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility.

  • Work experience on large programs with a proven track record.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of project controls and management of project control teams for a large-scale construction project and ability to carry out cost, schedule, and risk analysis. Must have a self-starter attitude with a proactive, results-oriented focus. Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.

  • Knowledge of AACEi schedule analysis methods must be highly proficient in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel software; delay analyses principles and expert report development for complex construction projects, claims management, and support; construction contracts. `

  • Experience in delay analysis methodologies.

  • Ability to produce oral and written presentations to clients and other stakeholders.

  • Can communicate effectively with different disciplines to obtain scope of work and other information and manage and contribute to the development and review of schedules.

  • Experience with analyzing, and reviewing schedules and time impact analyses.

  • Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Visio, and cost management software.

  • Ability to write project reports. Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be detail-oriented and highly organized; and must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.

  • Ability to produce and review deliverables and meet timelines as required by leadership.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,656.00 - $176,964.00.
