Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Permitting Specialist to work remotely . However, the client is located in Sacramento, CA and thus it's expected that this individual's working hours be on Pacific Timezone.

SUMMARY:

This role will support the efficient regulatory permitting for Central Valley construction projects, overseeing permit applications, amendments, and compliance documentation in alignment with standards, while coordinating with internal teams, leadership, and regulatory agencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support development of strategy, preparation, and acquisition of regulatory permits and approvals, and amendments thereto, under Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act, and Section 1600 of the California Fish and Game Code, among others

  • Support procurement of compensatory mitigation by evaluating compensatory mitigation requirements, analyzing market availability, preparing procurement documents, and managing mitigation contracts

  • Assist with construction and maintenance-phase compliance, including responding to potential noncompliance events, regulatory agency inquiries and requests, emergency response activities, and reporting

  • Supervise the preparation and submittal of compliance documentation to leadership and regulatory agencies

  • Retrieve data and prepare reports using proprietary database environmental mitigation management application

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field

  • Experience with major environmental laws including CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, state and federal endangered species acts, Porter-Cologne, and Lake/streambed alteration agreements

  • Experience with large-scale compensatory mitigation planning and procurement

  • Experience implementing wildlife connectivity projects

  • Experience in construction compliance tracking, documentation, and reporting

  • Experience with design-build contracting and construction processes

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $83,179.00 - $153,881.00.
