AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Junior Transportation Analyst for employment in the San Francisco, CA office. The ideal candidate would be a collaborative team player who has an affinity for advanced data analyses by writing scripts and codes, a strong desire to learn, attention to details, and a keen interest in the field of transportation, urban or environmental planning. The candidate, an energetic and enthusiastic professional with a strong aptitude in quantitative and spatial analyses, will join our Travel Demand Modeling, Research and Analysis Group.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Developing sustainable transportation solutions to address the issues of mobility and accessibility, climate change, and environmental justice.
Developing travel demand forecast, delivering creative GIS solutions, and performing advanced data analytics for the agency.
Work with a team of highly-motivated modelers, planners, as well as professionals in GIS and data analytics.
Under guidance, you will apply computational models to perform travel forecast, analyze travel model results, and assess the impacts of infrastructure investments and transportation and land-use policies.
Perform spatial analyses in an ArcGIS environment, conducting technical analyses using transportation and demographic Big Data, and developing data visualization tools using Open Source software's.
Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, civil engineering, environmental science/engineering, IE/OR, statistics, data science, computer science, economics (with an emphasis on econometrics), market research, urban planning (with a focus on data science) or a related field.
Experience in coding (e.g., Python, Java, or C++)
Familiarity with statistical analysis (regression, RMSE, etc.)
Master's degree in the disciplines described above
Working knowledge of the theories and practices of travel demand forecasting
Working knowledge of land-use modeling
Experience in using statistical analysis/database software (e.g., R, PostsgreSQL)
Working knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS)
Understanding of survey methodologies and experience in analyzing large-scale travel survey data
