AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Field Geologist for employment in the Santa Barbara, CA office. Under the responsible charge of Professional Geologists:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater sampling and soil sampling, well installation and contractor oversight, logging soils and collecting samples)
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Conduct environmental field investigations involving sampling soil, surface water and groundwater media
Supervise subcontractors in the field
Implement work plans and health & safety plans
Assist in remediation projects
Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology
Ability and eagerness to learn environmental field investigation methods
Ability to read, write and understand technical documents including investigation work plans and remedial action plans
Behavior-based safety conscious
Must be detailed-oriented, thorough, and well organized
Team player with positive attitude, and solution-oriented
Excellent verbal and listening skills
Knowledge of MS Office applications
Ability and desire to work in the field with overnight stays
This position does not include sponsorship for US work authorization
- Experience in lithologic logging, collection of soil, surface water, and groundwater samples, data analysis, hydrology and chemistry
