AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Compliance Scientist for employment in the Santa Maria, CA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Degree in science or related field required.
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., environmental science, biological science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering or any scientific/engineering related field)
Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry
Self-motivated, driven, and hard working with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment
Exceptionally strong research, attention to detail writing, verbal, organization skills
Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required
Position requires field work and candidate must be able to travel (including overnight)
Writing sample and college transcripts required
Technical Skills - Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds; safely drive a full-size pickup truck. Applicant must have a valid US driver’s license.
Must be able to interact effectively with internal and external clients
