Job Description

AECOM is seeking a seasoned leader with deep-rooted experience and relationships in alternative delivery in the West Coast. The West Coast Transportation Alternative Delivery Executive will be a be a member of the senior leadership team for the West Coast Transportation Business Line. This person will have business development and sales responsibilities, Principal-In-Charge duties, and support RBLL and Division Managers on key projects that require senior leadership engagement to drive successful project delivery of alternative delivery projects throughout the West Coast.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with senior leadership in a matrix organization, and mentor staff to support business development, project delivery, and develop and implement the alternative growth strategy for the West Coast. The ideal person must be able to communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

Business Development

  • In collaboration with Global Alternative Delivery, help develop and execute the long-term strategy for AECOM’s Alternative Delivery business including driving sales and bookings for the geography

  • Work with Division Managers and Alternative Delivery to evaluate and position for opportunities, and act as key stakeholder in owning Go/No Go decisions

  • Ensure major pursuits have a capture manager assigned and act as a capture manager as needed

  • Ensure unflinching customer focus, demonstrate deep customer insight, and promote a client driven culture

  • Help support development and maintenance of key contractor relationships

Project Delivery

  • In partnership with Division Managers, Operations, and Design Managers, provide leadership to support successful technical and commercial delivery of alternative delivery projects

  • Partner with Regional Quality leader to ensure that quality processes are being followed

  • Act as principal or potential for design manager as needed on key projects

People

  • As the senior executive for Transportation, mentor staff for technical, project management, and business development tasks

  • Help build a strong and thriving culture that promotes equity, diversity, & inclusion, and innovation

  • Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining top alternative delivery talent, aligned with market needs and strategic pursuits

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree and 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4+ years of leadership

  • Licensed PE

  • Relevant alternative delivery experience

  • Strong existing relationships with transportation clients in the west coast, as well as contractor community

  • Prior Project Management and Design Management experience

  • Seasoned people manager who can demonstrate ability to grow team, mentor, develop, and retain staff

  • Proven experience winning work and developing business in alternative delivery

  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff

  • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $250,000.00 - $320.000.00.
