Job Description

The primary role of the Mechanical inspector will be to ensure the Mechanical systems and equipment are installed correctly. You will be responsible for inspection, witness of testing, and evaluating mechanical/electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with local standards, contract specifications, and all safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping, electrical systems, etc

  • Review installation to ensure compliance with construction drawings

  • Ensure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerations

  • Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installed

  • Active role in technical discussions with contractors and equipment suppliers

  • Witness the commissioning of rotating and non-rotating equipment

  • Proper record keeping of all inspection/witness activities carried out

  • Perform inspection for defects clearing.

  • Ensure defects are cleared before signing off

  • Carry out other inspection/witness activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or relevant field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar role with Power, Petrochemical plant or heavy industries projects

  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel)

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility

  • Able to work as a team

  • Experience in handling EPC contractors and equipment suppliers will be an advantage.

  • Experience with inspection of coating, painting, welding etc will be an advantage.
