Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join our team in Singapore, Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for M&E projects
Analyze and evaluate tenders, providing recommendations to the project team
Conduct cost planning, value engineering, and life cycle costing for M&E systems
Manage contract administration, including change orders, variations, and claims
Perform regular cost monitoring and reporting, identifying potential cost overruns
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to optimize project costs
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
Prepare monthly cost reports and final accounts for M&E projects
Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures
Provide expert advice on M&E systems and components to the project team
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and sustainable building practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, or a related field
Professional membership in a recognized quantity surveying institution (e.g., RICS)
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying
Proven experience in large-scale commercial or industrial projects
Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Causeway)
Strong knowledge of M&E systems, components, and installation processes
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Advanced contract management and negotiation skills
In-depth understanding of local building codes and regulations in Singapore
Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green technologies
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
