Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer to be based in Tampa, FL .
This position is expected to begin in November 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment, water quality improvement, and stormwater management projects for a variety of clients across Florida.
Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Carry out engineering analyses, prepare reports and technical specifications, under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
Collect and analyze data, perform field work, undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Attend site visits and meetings.
Maintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed.
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required for this role.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree emphasis in water resources, water or wastewater treatment, or conveyance/pipelines.
Prior work experience.
Ideal candidate will have passed the FE Exam.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Proficient in Civil 3D, Revit, ArcMap, or other engineering software packages.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented while still being able to understand and comply with the big picture and goals of a project.
Documents time and effort accurately.
Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design and a willingness to travel and work in the field as needed.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $50,382.57 - $69,276.03.
