Job Description

AECOM’s Transportation Division in Markham is seeking a talented and motivated Bridge Design Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Apply strong technical expertise to the design of bridges and transportation structures.

• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs for new bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.

• Develop rehabilitation designs for existing bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related structures.

• Coordinate design efforts across multiple disciplines to ensure project success.

• Communicate effectively with clients and participate in project meetings.

• Maintain a high standard of quality in all deliverables, including reports, specifications, and project documentation.

• Work independently or collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

• Mentor and supervise junior team members, ensuring high-quality work.

• Promptly escalate project issues to the Project Manager and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in the design of bridges and transportation structures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• P.Eng. eligibility in Ontario.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and structural design.

• Proficiency in Midas or other structural analysis and design software.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $90,000.00.
