We are currently recruiting for a Railway Designer with experience in railway design and team leading, to join our busy and expanding experienced Linear Infrastructures team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone linear infrastructures team or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering railway designs for many years, throughout the USA and Canada You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain).

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Works as part of a linear infrastructures team with other designers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India..). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.

  • Coordinates and leads small design teams focused on railway design for a specific project.

  • Performing different analysis and design of linear infrastructures projects covering at least the following fields: railway geometric design, P-Way, track design; etc

  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings, including participation in interdisciplinary reviews.

  • Ensures that project technical goals/milestones/ budgets are met.

  • Prepares complex project deliverables using a team of junior technical and support staff, providing supervision to and mentoring less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record of working on railway designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+7 years).

  • Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e AASTHO; AREMA; Australian Codes; etc.).

  • Proficiency in geometrical design at least one software packages: OpenRail, Rail Track, Civil 3D

  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

  • Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering

  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably.
