Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Civil Engineer for the construction project management of large, complex reservoir project to address Everglades by improving the management of water in the region. The project location is in south Florida, 14 miles south of South Bay in Palm Beach County. This is a multiyear project. The selected will work with the US Army Corps of Engineers under the direction of a US Army Corps of Engineers Resident Engineer.
This position will include reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and constructability. Field construction inspection and reporting will comprise the majority of the work. Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Records all data in RMS.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Key Responsibilities To Include:
Responsible for monitoring contractor conformance to quality, performance, and specifications for assigned construction activities.
Keeps Resident Engineer informed of work load and any daily activities.
Provides technical expertise to Resident Engineer and/or client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
Reviews, analyzes and resolves issues.
Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
Reviews contractor schedules (Primavera and Gantt chart).
Develops, documents, and implements contract modifications.
Assists in coordinating project submittals, cost control, scheduling, reporting and document control activities.
Develops and tracks project activities relating to cost, specifications, changes, and schedule.
Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
Regularly communicates with clients.
Available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Performs and monitors daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Directs and supervises the work of other engineers, technicians, drafters and administrative staff.
Serves as a coach for other Project Engineers and technical staff.
Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience generating and reviewing cost estimates and schedules.
Experience with RMS
U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work
Preferred Requirements
10 + years of project management experience
Working knowledge of Word and Excel along with required and experience with change orders and claims associated with large construction projects.
10 + years of general construction experience with particular emphasis with particular emphasis the project management of large military industrial facilities and cyber or high security construction methods.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is 72 500,00 $ - 110 000,00 $.
