Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places, AECOM’s Architectural business, is seeking an Architect to join our team. This position will be based out of our Winnipeg offices with remote/hybrid work options permitted.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge

  • Document review and inter-disciplinary coordination

  • Develop or assist in the development of studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale

  • Prepare, review and approve drawing, specification and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentations documents to technical documents for building permit, tender and construction

  • Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes, standards and applicable regulations

  • Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes, design and quality standards

  • Lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external

  • Interface with clients, authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project

  • Work with AECOM design offices across the country, including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects

  • Knowledge of building systems and coordination of building systems design

  • Checks own work and the work of others

  • Knowledge and familiarity with building codes

  • Team player with the ability to work within a team environment

  • Experience in field review and contract administration

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • No less than a University Degree in Architecture + Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA.

  • Company paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $85,000.00.
