AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Ecologist for employment in Western Canada– namely in either the Burnaby or Calgary offices.

This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Post-secondary degree or diploma in environmental science or biology, from a recognized University or College or equivalent
Knowledge of ecological principles and local systems
Knowledge of aquatic, terrestrial, avian, reptile or bat ecology, identification, and impact assessments, and implementation of field protocols
Knowledge of provincial and federal ecological regulatory framework
Highly motivated and accountable
Enjoy working outdoors
Be an effective communicator
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to work in a field environment
Adherence to and enforcement of AECOM’s Health and Safety Protocols
Experience with biological field sampling
Experience with air photo interpretation (hard/soft copy), Global Positioning Systems, and map and compass orientation
Wilderness First Aid and/or wilderness experience
Valid Ontario driver’s license
Valid Standard First Aid + CPR
Bilingual (French and English)
